On Thursdays, I have violin/piano lessons from 5-6 pm. Then, I am in my violin teacher's stake orchestra, which rehearses from 7-9 pm. My violin teacher (Amber) takes me to and back from orchestra. Usually, to fill the 6-7 hour, I teach her son a piano lesson, and we go early to orchestra. Well, her son wasn't home. So we went to McDonald's and got smoothies. One of the topics that came up while we were going to the church for orchestra was driving. I said that I had never driven a car. She told me "I'll have to take you sometime."
I TOTALLY thought she was joking
Then, we got to the church, and she didn't park. She unbuckled and said "Trade me spots"
I did, but I was in shock! She directed me, and I took a lap around the church, then laps around an empty section of the parking lot. The only real error was that I ran over a curb once.
She even told me to park the car. It took me 3 tries, and it wasn't straight, but I got it in between the lines!
I thought it was really cool! I am still kinda in shock, but I had a blast!
She told me "I loved people who let me drive when I was your age."
She also told me "Don't tell your parents; they might kill me!"
I will always remember the first time I drove a car!
